OBJECTIVES
The
aims and objectives of LACC are :
-
To
work for the protection and promotion of women’s human
rights in accordance with the principles and
provisions enshrined in the Universal Declaration of
Human Rights, Convention on the Elimination of All
Forms of Discrimination Against Women, the Beijing
Declaration, the Platform for Action and various
International Human Rights Instruments and work for
the elimination of all forms of exploitation,
discrimination, violence against women and
trafficking in women and children.

To
work for the elimination of all forms of
exploitation, discrimination, violence against women,
domestic violence and trafficking in women and
children.
-
To
work for the protection and promotion of children’s
rights in accordance with the principles and
provisions enshrined in the Convention on the Rights
of the Child, ILO Conventions,CRC and other UN
instruments on Child Rights.
-
To
promote and propagate the principles and provisions
of human rights enshrined in the Universal
Declaration of Human Rights, Convention on the
Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against
Women, Beijing Declaration, Platform for Action,
Convention on the Rights of the Child, ILO Convention
on Child Rights and other International Human Rights
Instruments in the country.

To
work for the promotion and protection of the
principles of non-discrimination, gender equality,
gender justice and social justice in the country.

To
influence the legislative reforms, official and public
policies for the protection of the rights and
interests of women and children, gender equality,
gender justice women’s empowerment, gender-equitable
development and social justice in Nepal.
-
To
campaign and advocate for the enactment of national
legislation for the protection of women’s and child
rights in line with the provisions and principles
enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human
Rights, Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of
Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) and Platform for
Action, Beijing Declaration and promote observance of
practical application of the provisions of
International Human rights Instruments.

To
organise training, seminar and workshop for raising
awareness and consciousness of people about the
principles and provisions of human rights, women’s
rights, child rights, non-discrimination, civil,
political, social, economic, cultural and legal
rights, rule of law, gender equality, gender justice
and social justice enshrined in the Universal
Declaration of Human Rights, Convention on the
Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against
Women, Beijing Declaration, Platform for Action,
Convention on the Rights of the Child and other
International Human Rights Instruments.

To
undertake research, survey, field studies,
documentation and publication on the vital issues
related to the rights and interest of women and
children. and serve as an information, documentation
and research centre on women’s and child rights
-
To
provide free legal aid, counselling and mediation
services and court representation to the women and
children victim of violence against women, domestic
violence and trafficking.
LACC
carries out these aims through human rights education,
training, dissemination, sensitization, documentation,
fact-finding, research, publications, advocacy,
campaign, lobbying, networking, legal aid, counselling,
mediation services and court representation
